I value excellence, authenticity, and capturing beauty with joy. I believe in love and marriage!
WHO IS PLAID POPPY?
Hello, my name is Stacey Pitman. I am a girl who born in California, residing in the homey city of Minneapolis, Minnesota. I have always loved all things creative, from capturing moments with my camera to creating them with a paint brush or calligraphy pen.
Studying Graphic Design and Visual Art at the University of Minnesota, I love learning new ways to use my creative talents to help others. Through photography and hand lettering, I love getting my hands dirty and getting to know people in their real lives as I do my best to make their lives more beautiful! I focus primarily on wedding photography, adventurous travels, as well as photos for creative businesses.
I love getting to know couples, learning their personality and style. I see wedding photography as two main parts — one part you and your story and style, and one part my story and style! This way every wedding is different and completely customized to YOU, while I keep my consistent styling and brand. It's like peanut butter and chocolate! Always better together :)
I love being with people on one of the most personal and important days of their lives—it is such an honor! I have been second shooting weddings since 2010, and started my own business of wedding photography in 2013. I love seeing people's different personalities and learning about what brought them together. The combination of capturing the natural beauty of people's lives mixed with gorgeous landscapes in nature is the best!
WHERE SHOULD WE SEND YOU?
Im always down for a setting in the mountains or by an ocean! California. Australia. Hawaii. Alaska. Austria. Ireland. The world is your oyster :)
WHAT DID YOU WANT TO BE WHEN YOU GREW UP?
An astronaut. Until I decided shooting into space in a rocket would be scary—I decided to stick with wanting to be an artist.
YOUR JUKEBOX TUNES:
Ooo, its a mix. Johnnyswim, James Vincent McMarrow, Ben Howard, Taylor Swift, United Pursuit, Dave Barnes...
I'm definitely not afraid to try new things. I love dabbling in piano, guitar, and when the weather is warm I've been known to travel via longboard. As for hidden talents I'm pretty good at balloon animals :)
WORDS OF WISDOM
Try new things and don't be afraid of failing. Seems simple, but it's amazing the things that we never try simply because we think we might fail.
